The singer here is 刘珺儿 (Lau Gwun Yi), who is very famous for singing many Cantonese songs and hits. This song is from her 2004 CNY album, 粤语小调贺新年, Volume 2, and it was recorded, produced, and released by 花仙子 (Flower Fairy). 皇星全音 (KingStar Enterprise) has also released Volumes 1 and 2 of this album. The CD edition of this album is known as 恭祝大家新年好 and has a different songlist than the VCD and DVD edition. There are 14 songs on this album.
This was, at first, a song sung for people’s birthdays, but recently, people have become to view this as a CNY (Chinese New Year) song as well.
